We’re seeking a skilled Board Operator to provide programming and control board support to On-Air Talent. Responsibilities include operating control board for studios and remote programming, regulating program timing, operating syndicated programming, playing commercials, monitoring technical quality and accuracy of on-air programming from master control room, supporting off-air commercial production, dubbing music to hard disk and programming automation computers, protecting station’s license by censoring live programs, executing playlists for server, tape, or simulcast programming, assisting with adjusting signal and programming content to ensure transmission meets federally mandated broadcast standards, processing time-out programming for accurate playback, monitoring and updating weather, traffic and news reports into automation equipment, checking studio equipment for proper functioning, screening incoming phone calls and selectively choosing callers for On-Air Talent and talk shows, and handling emergency inserts such as news updates, breaking stories, and alert system tests. The role requires flexibility in work schedule with primary hours 8:30a-11:30a Mon-Fri but may include evenings and weekends, comfort in a fast paced environment with tight timeframes and multiple demands, preferably previous experience in a related role, and experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint. Candidates should have respect for others, ability to work within prescribed guidelines without close supervision, problem solving skills within established procedures, understanding of when to seek guidance for unforeseen problems, close attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to act professionally and collaborate with colleagues of different levels.
