CAD Technician
Technical Assurance, Inc. – Willoughby, Ohio

Technical Assurance, Inc. is a 100% employee-owned, national building envelope consulting group. We deliver design and consulting solutions for roofing, façade, and structural projects across the U.S. Our team is growing, and we’re looking for a skilled CAD Technician to support project work on a part-time or contract basis.

Role Overview
The CAD Technician will assist with the preparation of building envelope design documents for commercial, retail, municipal, and institutional projects. This role is in-office at our Willoughby, OH location with potential flexibility for hybrid or remote work. The ideal candidate must be able to reliably commute to Willoughby, OH.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, organized construction drawings in AutoCAD for building envelope projects, with a focus on roofing, façade and structural components.
• Follow established drafting standards and project requirements.
• Maintain clear file organization and documentation of project drawings.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and CAD staff to ensure clarity and accuracy in drawings.
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting project deadlines.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in CAD Technologies, or equivalent work experience.
• 1–5 years of experience using AutoCAD in an architectural/engineering setting.
• Knowledge of general drafting practices across disciplines (architectural, structural, civil, mechanical).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established drafting standards.
• Clear communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with project teams.
• Experience with building envelope design, 3D modeling, BIM/Revit, or dynamic blocks is a plus.
