Job Description

Career Renew is recruiting for one of its clients a Chief Compliance Officer - Fintech - this is a fully remote role for US based candidates.

We believe in a world of fair economic opportunity, where global commerce can flourish thanks to frictionless exchange of value.

Our first steps in building towards that vision is enabling drastically faster, cheaper, and more reliable transactions for businesses in emerging markets.

We’re here to build. We empower our team to act like founders, make bold decisions, and deliver business outcomes that matter.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) who will take full ownership of our compliance function. This is a critical leadership role that requires both strategic vision and tactical execution . You’ll be leading a world-class compliance team, and ensuring our platform scales to become the global standard for cross-border payments.

This is a role for someone with a founder’s mindset : a builder who thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and takes responsibility end-to-end. You’ll need to be equally comfortable diving into the deepest details of a compliance reliance program with a banking partner as you are sitting at the table with leadership and board directors to shape company direction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own compliance end-to-end: Lead all aspects of compliance strategy, execution, and team-building across global markets.

  • Manage critical relationships: Act as the key compliance liaison with regulators, banking partners, and auditors.

  • Stay ahead of regulations: Monitor evolving global regulatory frameworks in fintech, payments, and stablecoins; adapt policies and practices accordingly.

  • Balance execution & strategy: Dive deep into operational compliance (KYB, AML monitoring, client risk scoring, transaction screening) while also defining licensing strategies and regulatory expansion roadmaps.

  • Build and scale the compliance team: Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing compliance team that embodies Conduit’s values of autonomy and ownership.

  • Embed compliance into the business: Partner closely with product, engineering, and revenue teams to ensure compliance considerations are integrated into product design, customer onboarding, and market expansion.

  • Mitigate risk while enabling growth: Design compliance frameworks that protect Conduit and its customers while enabling rapid scaling across emerging markets.

  • Board-level reporting: Provide regular updates to the CEO, board, and investors on compliance performance, risks, and opportunities.

Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in compliance leadership roles within banking, fintech, or regulatory agencies.

  • Deep knowledge of global financial regulations, AML/CFT frameworks, and payments compliance.

  • Knowledge of cross-border payments, emerging markets regulatory environments is a strong plus.

  • Proven success in managing relationships with regulators and financial institutions.

  • Strong hands-on expertise in compliance operations, including KYB, KYC, AML monitoring, and risk assessment frameworks.

  • Track record of building and scaling compliance programs in high-growth, fast-paced environments.

  • Experience with stablecoins or digital assets is a strong plus.

  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence at all levels, from regulators to engineers.

  • Founder mindset: you take ownership end-to-end with high agency, proactiveness and deliver results under pressure.

Compensation & Package

What We Offer

  • Autonomy and ownership: Freedom to shape your role, work with top-tier talent in a high-agency environment, and resources to innovate without bureaucracy.

  • Equity: Significant equity stake in a rapidly growing series A startup. Own your impact and share in our success.

  • Compensation and flexibility: Market-leading salary, performance bonuses, and top health insurance in a remote-first environment with unlimited PTO.

  • Impactful work: Join a mission-driven team revolutionizing payments for underserved markets, with the chance to build legacy-defining technology.
