Hotel Housekeeper

The Hotel Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, order, and overall appearance of guest rooms and public areas to ensure a comfortable and welcoming environment for all guests. This role includes making beds, replenishing linens and amenities, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, dusting, and reporting any maintenance issues. The Housekeeper follows hotel standards and safety protocols to deliver high-quality service and contribute to a positive guest experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Maintain a clean and organized supply cart.
2. Sort, count, fold, mark, or carry linens.
3. Change linen and make beds.
4. Sweep, scrub, and mop floors.
5. Dust furniture and fixtures.
6. Wash walls, ceiling, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
7. Clean and sanitize bathrooms.
8. Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to disposal area.
9. Vacuum carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
10. Move furniture, hang and remove drapes, and roll carpets as needed.
11. Replenish guest room supplies, i.e. bathroom amenities and writing supplies.
12. Ensure beds are made to standard with fresh clean linens.
13. Ensure bath terry is clean and stain free.
14. Ensure lost and found articles are tagged and turned into management.
15. Inspect room for maintenance needs and check all fixtures, equipment and room conditions (television, radio, lights, heating/cooling, furniture, wallpaper, etc.) for proper operation, settings and maintenance. Report deficiencies.
16. Clean lobby, lounge, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways as assigned.
17. Replace light bulbs as needed.
18. Deep clean all assigned guest rooms and replenish guest amenities and supplies as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications

Up to one month related experience or training; less than high school education; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 18 years of age.

Physical Demands

The associate must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the associate is regularly exposed to chemicals, dust and odors, fumes or particles. The associate works in an environment open to the general public. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
