Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Hotel Maintenance Technician and Bellperson to join our dynamic team. This dual-role position combines the essential functions of maintaining the hotel’s physical plant and providing excellent customer service through bell services. Job Summary:

This is a dual role. The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for the physical upkeep of the property when the Maintenance Technician is not scheduled. This includes performing repairs, maintaining the grounds, collecting trash, blowing leaves, etc., as well as performing necessary cleaning activities, such as dusting, mopping, trash removal, after all repairs are done. 

The main duty of the Bellperson/Houseman position is carrying luggage for the guests as they come to or leave the hotel. They should also attend the main entrance door and welcome/farewell guests, arrange and manage transfers, help guests with directions and perform as the first and last impression for them. Upon check-in, escorting guests to their respective rooms and explaining the rooms’ features is also a daily task.

Maintenance Technician Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs daily rounds, logging all required readings from systems, alerting supervisor or GM of any areas needing repair.
  • Performs repairs in all areas of hotel and grounds as needed.
  • Maintains or assists in maintaining and monitoring water features.
  • Communicates to front desk staff regarding the status of repairs in rooms.
  • Responds to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Logs in and maintains contact through assigned devices/software.
  • Cleans up after all repairs in public spaces and meeting rooms, alerting Lead Housekeeper that the area is ready to be sanitized.
  • Sanitize all tools needed on a daily basis, including devices at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a friendly and professional attitude when interacting with guests and fellow staff members
  • Perform special projects as needed.

Bellperson Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Welcome guests by name upon their arrival and departure to provide excellent customer service
  • Assist guests with moving luggage to a secure area and perform any other requested services
  • Maintain a friendly and professional attitude when interacting with guests and fellow staff members.
  • Assist the Front Desk Associate with check-ins and/or check-outs when necessary.
  • Assist in the delivery of Room Service requests from the restaurant when needed.
  • Responsible for thorough cleaning and sanitizing of all public areas, including hallways, elevators, bathrooms, etc.
  • Maintain clean and tidy grounds.
  • Maintain inventory of necessary supplies.
  • Report necessary maintenance items.
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures using and completing Public Areas Checklist.
  • Assist other departments when needed to ensure optimum service to guests.
  • Sanitize all cleaning tools including mops, brooms, etc, at the end of shift.
  • Assist with laundry duties as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems
  • Knowledge of basic carpentry skills

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years maintenance or related construction experience preferred
  • Previous hotel experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to stand for prolonged periods
  • Able to climb ladders
  • Able to climb stairs and assist guests with luggage
  • Able to walk hallways and perimeter of property
  • Able to twist, bend and reach
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds
