Maintenance Technician Job description:

 As a Maintenance Technician you are responsible for repairing and maintaining the hotel by ensuring quality, cleanliness, guest satisfaction, safety and security. A major part of the job is to be proactive in identifying potential issues so that an action plan can be put in place. You will maintain all aspects of the hotel common areas, guest rooms, and exterior property minimizing the use of outside contract labor to maintain the hotel. Maintenance issues arise at all hours, so it is necessary that you be available for phone calls and emergency on site assistance at all hours.

 A Maintenance Technician's job can be physically demanding. You will lift, carry, walk, sit, bend, reach, kneel, crawl, climb, push, pull, and fold. You must work a flexible schedule and be capable of performing tasks that require repetitive motions. You must be able to move continuously, standing for up to eight (8) hours, and must be able to lift and/or carry 70 pounds.

  General Responsibilities:

Responsible for the repairs, maintenance, upkeep and replacement of the property's systems in accordance with hotel standards. Will also assist in other areas such as grounds keeping or janitorial tasks as needed.

  Qualifications:

• Basic working knowledge of building maintenance, electrical, plumbing and air conditioning equipment.
• Ability to interpret manufacturer’s literature for installation, preparation, use and upkeep of various materials and products used throughout the property.
• Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guest, management, and co-workers
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• 1 Year previous maintenance experience.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
