The HR Administrative Assistant (Benefits) will work with the benefits team to help out as needed. The ideal candidate with have a strong customer service background and experience or interest in employee benefits.

Compensation: $23-$25/hr DOE

Availability: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. This role is set to go through Jan/Feb 2026 and will be re-evaluated based on performance and company needs.

This is an excellent way to build up your resume and gain experience for the next ~6 months. There is potential for the contract to be extended or even turn into a permanent role depending on company needs and growth.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure benefits programs area accurately and efficiently administered in compliance with applicable laws and practice policies.
  • Manage in house benefit programs (i.e., those not included in outsourcing services).
  • Resolve escalated associate benefits issues using discretion, mutuality and a working knowledge of benefit plans, policies, and administrative procedures.
  • Regularly review vendor files, ensuring accuracy and that appropriated deductions are taken, providing corrections when needed.
  • Audit vendor enrollment system, creating standard and ad hoc reports from internal and external systems.
  • Process vendor remittance and invoices, submitting check requests when needed.
  • Calculate and provide Parental Leave earnings to Payroll for eligible associates.
  • Reconcile associate and employer HAS funding between payroll and vendor system.
  • Provide updates to Communications Microsite Hub for benefit plan changes and communication campaigns.
  • Act as a resource on the Benefits Team for administration and program processes and procedures.
  • Manage COBRA subsidies with vendor.
  • Work with Manager Benefits Operations to develop and implement continuous process improvements.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, HR, or related field.
  • Experience with Benefits plan administration (COBRA, ERISA, Retirement, Health & Welfare and Disability plans, etc.) is a bonus but not required.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong benefits and HR practical knowledge.
  • Detail oriented with high level of work quality and accuracy.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communications skills.
