Norfolk Water Meter Reader – Work Life Balance

Work 32 hours but get paid for 40 hours

Location: Norfolk, VA

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: 4-day workweek (assigned rotation)

Pay: Competitive hourly rate + full benefits + paid time off

What You’ll Be Doing

• Read residential and commercial water meters using a small handheld computer (less than 10 lbs)

• Log data accurately and in a timely manner

• Operate company vehicles and equipment safely

• Lift up to 50 pounds as needed

• Walk 5–10 miles a day, work on your feet for up to 8 hours

• Repeated bending, crouching, and climbing outdoors in all weather conditions

• Positively interact with customers with a service-minded attitude

• Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Team Leader

What You’ll Need

• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn

• High School Diploma or GED

• Basic mobile device skills

• Valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance

• Able to use personal vehicle

• Clean background check, DMV report, and drug/alcohol screening

• Ability to work independently, stay focused, and meet daily route goals

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors year-round
