About the Role

The Company is seeking a Performing Arts Technical Manager (HEA) - VP Finance and Admin to oversee the production and technical operations of a proscenium-style rental theater. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the activities of the theater, which hosts a diverse range of live performances. This role involves developing production budgets and schedules, supervising a large team of technical personnel, and ensuring the smooth execution of all technical aspects for over 200 booked days annually. The Technical Manager will also be involved in the recruitment and training of stagehand staff, as well as working closely with the Performing Arts Manager and Public Safety to devise security plans for theater events. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree and at least six years' related experience, with a preference for those who possess strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills. The role requires the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, experience in working with high-level contacts, and a passionate commitment to the performing arts. The Technical Manager will be expected to have a flexible schedule, as the position may require night and weekend work hours. Responsibilities also include overseeing safety training, participating in labor contract negotiations, and collaborating with the College administration on facilities management and maintenance.
