Product Designer, Platforms and Experience Monitoring

- This role, due to the business needs of the team, requires employees to be physically present in the specified office on a full-time basis. This helps to ensure you are best equipped to be successful and have the experience you need to fulfil the responsibilities of the role.
- The Platforms and Experience Monitoring team is looking for a hands-on, collaborative Product Designer to help shape the future of our internal monitoring tools. These tools are critical to how our engineers keep LinkedIn online and performant, and you’ll be designing for an audience of over 10,000 internal technical users.

Responsibilities:
- We’re a small but mighty org that builds the company’s internal monitoring platform from the ground up. We’ve consolidated alerting, logging, and dashboarding into a unified web application, powering critical observability across hundreds of thousands of servers.
- This is an internal-facing product with a high impact on reliability and developer productivity across the company. You’ll be working directly with 18 front-end developers across three teams and collaborating closely with engineering leadership.
- This role will be the sole dedicated designer on the team, owning, improving, and scaling the design system, maintaining Figma libraries, supporting new feature development, and ensuring visual and interaction consistency across a data-rich experience.
Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in Design, HCI, or a related field
- 4+ years of UX design experience
- Strong portfolio that demonstrates building or evolving a design system—ideally with data-heavy or technical tools
- Experience working on an internal monitoring tool or internal developer tool with heavy data visualization
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience working with small, highly technical teams, especially engineering or infrastructure orgs
- Experience designing data visualization or dashboard products
- Fluency in Figma, prototyping tools, and collaborative design workflows
- Strong design systems mindset—ability to think in components and patterns
- Ability to clearly explain design rationale to engineering stakeholders and leadership
- Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with evolving priorities and high technical complexity

Compensation:
