Job Responsibilities Conduct on-site accident investigations and root cause analysis of complex accidents and incidents. Assist in developing action plans to prevent reoccurrence of accidents. Prepare comprehensive accident investigation reports, notifications, and related documentation. Review safety documents for compliance with safety procedures and laws. Review and approve safety documents prepared by other investigators. Develop and analyze data to identify safety issues and trends. Represent the Office of Construction Safety at meetings. Distribute safety advisories and lessons learned. Perform field audits and create inspection reports. Document work practices and identify areas for improvement. Assist in preparing performance evaluations and progress reports. Review project-specific safety plans and submittals. Minimum Qualifications Baccalaureate degree with credits in industrial hygiene, environmental health, occupational health, safety engineering, or related fields, or Baccalaureate degree with credits in sciences or engineering plus one year of relevant experience, or Two years of relevant full-time work experience, or Combination of education and experience equivalent to above. License and Special Requirements Valid Motor Vehicle Driver License in New York State. One year of relevant work experience for Level II placement. Preferred Skills Excellent organizational, verbal, and written skills. Construction-related safety experience and knowledge of OSHA, DOB, DEP regulations preferred. Ability to drive in all NYC boroughs. Additional Information This position is open to qualified persons with a disability under the 55-a Program.
