Job Description

This position is a hybrid in-office role that works out of our Boston, MA office. Tuesday-Thursday will be working in office. For this newly created role, we are looking for an SEO Manager to help shape and drive our organic growth strategy. In this role, you'll leverage technical SEO expertise and data driven analysis to identify performance drivers and use these insights to drive a strong experimentation agenda. You’ll also work closely with a dedicated SEO engineering team and have the opportunity to influence that team’s roadmap. What You'll Do Monitor, understand and optimize key SEO metrics via continuous experimentation. Perform regular competitor analysis including gap analysis, SERP ownership, and feature comparison to identify opportunities and threats. Conduct keyword research and mapping for product categories, identifying opportunities based on volume, competition, and intent. Partner closely with the engineering team to build automated engineering solutions that drive efficiency and scale. Monitor and analyze core algorithm updates, conducting impact assessments and developing action plans to maintain or improve rankings. Analyze crawl data and log files to identify indexation issues, optimize crawl budget, and improve site architecture. Collaborate with content teams to develop and optimize product descriptions, buying guides, and SEO-driven content that matches user search intent. Develop strategies for seasonal peaks and promotional periods to maximize organic visibility. What You'll Need 5+ years of SEO experience, with at least 2 years focused on eCommerce or large-scale websites. Strong analytical skills with experience using tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, Screaming Frog, Semrush, Ahrefs, Nozzle, etc. Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting large datasets using Excel, SQL, and/or Python to draw actionable insights. Experience optimizing crawl budget and URL parameter handling for large eCommerce sites. Deep foundation of leveraging core SEO concepts (keyword research, user intent, crawlability, mobile-friendly, page speed, etc.) Strong technical SEO skills including content optimization, XML Sitemaps, structured data, robots, website rendering, etc. Willingness to introduce and advocate for new ideas/approaches. Ability to follow through and thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or related field. About Wayfair Inc.
