Job Description
Position Summary:
The SMT Line Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining surface mount technology (SMT) assembly equipment to ensure the production of high-quality electronic products. The role requires precision, problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement and team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead SMT production line operations to meet quality and efficiency goals.
Operate SMT automatic and peripheral equipment safely and effectively.
Maintain minimum 85% direct labor contribution; punctuality is essential.
Prepare, execute, and solve problems in alignment with company standards.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Accurately log labor hours, production activities, and safety issues.
Participate in team knowledge sharing and continuous improvement efforts.
Ensure compliance with QMS procedures and report non-conformances.
Communicate barriers and improvement ideas effectively to management.
Complete required training and maintain certifications (e.g., IPC-610).
Qualifications:
1–3 years of SMT or equivalent experience preferred.
IPC-610 Certification desired (or willingness to obtain).
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Visual acuity of 20/25 or better and ability to pass color blindness test.
ERP software experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, and lift (up to 60 lbs) for extended periods.
Must be able to use microscopes and fine motor skills for small object handling.
Work in environments with background noise and repetitive tasks.
