Role Details: CBS Digital is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer for our Content Management engineering team. To be successful at this job, you need to bring a winning attitude and mad coding skills.
Your-Day-to-Day:
- Design and develop new business-led content management features with an emphasis on performance and user experience
- Work closely with devops on full-stack solutions to complex problems for scale and availability
- Develop new features and improvements to our proprietary CMS application.
- Provide engineering support to stakeholders, ensuring a high level of application availability
Key Projects:
- Develop tools enabling editors to create visually-rich and data-driven content experiences
- Integrate content classification ML / AI processes to better annotate video and image assets
- Streamline workflows to allow stakeholders to produce more content quicker
- Adapt and optimize current systems for deployment on cloud-based infrastructure
- Upgrade and migrate existing legacy Javascript into a new framework to facilitate platform upgrades.
- Facilitate better content distribution and aggregation within the various business units.
- Consolidate a variety of distinct CMS platforms used within the business
Qualifications:
What you bring to the team:
- 5+ years experience using and writing content-driven GraphQL and REST APIs
- 5+ years experience using Javascript, Typescript, Sass, CSS, Web Components, React and Node.js, and preferably some exposure to Golang and/or Rust
- PHP development experience and familiarity with Symfony framework, composer package management and Twig templating engine
- Knowledge of SQL & popular open source RDBS and search technology such as Solr / Elasticsearch
- Experience with cloud architecture, ideally on AWS
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
- Exposure to popular proprietary or open-source CMS such as Wordpress, Drupal, Jumla, Magento
- A strong ability to develop enterprise-level applications with expertise in UI/UX implementation
- You possess strong initiative and the ability for creative thinking with product development staff plus the ability to work in a collaborative, innovative, flexible and team-oriented environment
- You have excellent understanding of Object Oriented Programming and Design
- Worked with agile processes
- Familiarity with using version control systems. (Git)
- Enthusiasm for learning new frameworks and languages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $111,600.00 - 140,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.This position is bonus eligible.
