Transmission Scheduling and Resource Coordinator Location: Waltham, MA, US, 02451 Division: Complex Project Management Electric NE Job Type: Requisition Number: 63849 Department: Job Function: Engineering National Grid is hiring a Transmission Scheduling and Resource Coordinator for Massachusetts. This is a Hybrid Role - Must live within a commutable distance to one of our locations. Job Purpose The Transmission Scheduling and Resource Coordinator will be responsible for managing the scheduling and resourcing of capital construction projects that are actively in progress ("in flight"). Additionally, this role will oversee the development and management of longer-term schedules for projects that are not yet in the construction phase. This strategic aspect of the role involves collaborating with multiple internal and external stakeholders to align on future project execution plans and ensure seamless coordination across departments. The coordinator will work closely with construction and outage planners, as well as supervisors, to maintain accurate schedules, allocate resources effectively, and resolve any conflicts. Travel across our Massachusetts service territory will be required to support project execution and strategic planning efforts. Key Accountabilities Develop and manage schedules for active Transmission Construction and Maintenance projects using Primavera P6 or equivalent scheduling tools. Update and maintain project schedules in alignment with monthly reporting cycles, ensuring data accuracy and consistency. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external contractors, and other National Grid departments to align schedules, monitor project progress, and address potential conflicts. Work closely with construction and outage planners, as well as supervisors, to ensure schedules are practical, executable, and reflective of current project realities. Integrate and update schedule data in internal systems to maintain a reliable source of project information. Identify schedule risks and develop mitigation strategies to support on-time and on-budget project delivery. Support workforce planning and resource allocation efforts to facilitate efficient execution of construction and maintenance activities. Track and report earned value management metrics (SPI & CPI) for major projects, ensuring adherence to performance goals. Provide input to strategic scheduling and resource planning for future-year projects, working across departments to align long-term execution strategies. Facilitate lessons learned sessions and incorporate findings into future scheduling practices to improve accuracy and efficiency. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in project management, scheduling, construction management, or related field, or equivalent work experience. Proficiency in scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project. Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables), Word, and PowerPoint. Experience in utility, construction, or related industries preferred. Knowledge of transmission and substation line projects is a plus. Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel across the National Grid service territory in Massachusetts to support project field work.
