Under routine supervision, this Capacity Coordinator I is responsible for the coordination of a small-sized/less complex group of carriers and/or independently contracted (IC) drivers. This position ensures safe and timely service through the accurate planning, routing, monitoring, and delivery of freight and loads. The incumbent must be able to work any shift to satisfy the demand for flexibility in scheduling to ensure operational success. This includes but is not limited to day, night, and weekend shifts.Key Responsibilities: • Learn to build and maintain positive, professional, safe, and reliable relationships with carriers and/or independently contracted (IC) drivers to ensure seamless new carrier set-up, minimize turnover, and maximize ongoing productivity• Develop knowledge of how to optimize operations and maximize profitability through the understanding of key performance indicators• Learn to create, maintain, and present customer-specific reporting and financial analysis• Develop knowledge on how to manage inventory, assets, customer pools, and/or assignment of carriers and/or independent contracted drivers to balance equipment in the market• Learn to perform administrative duties such as submitting payroll, management of the Net-Revenue budget, filing and documenting, resolving settlement issues, invoicing, and/or creating reports• Learn to coordinate yard duties such as checking/inspecting equipment, and partnering with maintenance to ensure all regular preventative maintenance services are scheduled on time and all safety-related mechanical issues are fixed for account equipment (as required)• Act as liaison between carriers and/or independently contracted drivers, customers, and company personnel to resolve service issues, routing and/or planning, mechanical problems, accessorial pay-related issues, etc. as they occur throughout the day and, where necessary, when on call• Maintain the Company's safety culture by complying with external & internal regulations, policies, and procedures• Learn to assign loads and plan, route, and monitor freight movement to provide safe, on-time service and meet customer requirements, including managing exceptions based on pick-up and delivery schedules, and other environmental factors on the roadMinimum Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED WITH 1-2 years of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, and/or equivalent military experience AND the ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if neededAND/OR Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences:Strong professional communication skills applied internally and externallyProven experience in establishing and maintaining healthy working relationshipsExperience in fostering strong customer relationships via delivery of commitments, open communication, and ongoing feedback/improvementAbility to process information with high levels of accuracyAccurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgmentExperience in Microsoft Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)Ability to manage multiple competing prioritiesAbility to consistently travel to account and customer locationsAbility to adapt to a dynamic work environment and shifting priorities and directivesExperience in holding people accountable and conducting difficult conversationsAbility to perform in a stressful and high-pressure work environmentPreferred Qualifications: Bachelors in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field AND 1 year of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, and/or equivalent military experienceSchedules available:Thursday - Sunday 0700-1800Friday - Monday 0700-1800This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.Compensation:Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
