THE ROLE

The Catering/Special Event Coordinator is primarily responsible for managing a wide range of support duties related to the daily operations, sales and marketing of Well& by Durst, 151. They should be professional, self-motivated, and positive.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with planning, organizing, and executing events Create engaging text, image and video content for all Well& by Durst, 151 social media platforms that sustains readers’ curiosity and creates buzz Lead the sales and event execution process for proposals and developments Assist in the implementation of RESERVE and continue to monitor client, vendor and menu data Create and update event records using RESERVE on a daily, weekly and monthly basis Monitor preferred vendor contracts, invoices and payments for all contracted vendor fees Work with the catering team and property management to monitor and update insurance documents for new and existing event vendors Stay up-to-date with industry trends and implement innovative event designs and menu concepts Assist in the development of new sales programs and initiatives Provide excellent customer service Complete other duties assigned by management

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

1 year, or more, of related experience preferable in NYC-based special events Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience and/or training

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Computer proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required Strong organizational, writing and communication skills Ability to work well with others, comfortable taking initiative and detail oriented Excellent customer service skills, display a genuine desire to help people Expertise in multiple social media platforms Ability to communicate with guests and team members using a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to and understand requests, respond with appropriate actions and provide accurate information Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

COMPENSATION

$24.00/hour and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401(k) plan.
