Our Product Associate Rotation Program is the place for career oriented Product talent to grow their careers. The program’s mission is to accelerate the professional development of Early Career Product Development and Product Success professionals through hands-on exposure to the full product development lifecycle of a luxury furniture brand on the rise. As a full time Product Associate, you will rotate through working on both our Product Development function and Product Success functions over time. After 2 years, team members will be placed in a more specialized role based on performance, strengths, and interests demonstrated over the previous years.

This is a fully in person position, located at our New York headquarters in the Tribeca Design District.

Responsibilities

Product Development

  • Provide clear and concise technical feedback to our manufacturing partners, including detailed review of product prototypes, shop drawings and production progress photos.
  • Help facilitate that the quoting and sampling process proceeds in a timely, organized manner according to the Product Development calendar, allowing us to efficiently launch new products throughout the year.
  • Work across internal teams and external stakeholders to scale product development and expand our beautiful, high-quality assortment and push Maiden Home into new categories to rapidly grow our product line.
  • Assist the Product Team as a point of contact between internal stakeholders and external manufacturing partners for development of new products.

Product Success

  • Implement test and quality control checks, ensuring Maiden Home furniture is built to last.
  • Drive accountability to product specifications and brand standards through production oversight and problem solving with manufacturers on issue resolution.
  • Work alongside the Product team in recording and tracking our Product assortment into our newly adopted database system
  • Be an advocate for the elevation of our product’s quality and design standard by collaborating with the team to identify opportunities to up-level existing products.

Qualifications

  • Educational history in any of the following domains: domestic or international furniture design, industrial design, product development, and/or product operations.
  • Internship or part time experience in a home retail or boutique commercial furnishings manufacturing organization or interior design firm is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and Rhino is required.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office and Google Suite a must.
  • Working knowledge of data management or PLM systems such as Fohlio, Spexx and Spec sources is considered a notable asset.
  • Must have seen products in a quantity of >100, move from concept to market /end user; possess a strong knowledge of furniture design, construction and materiality through the lens of production; inclusive of upholstered seating, dining, bedroom and storage.
  • Passionate about furniture and design; knowledgeable about design history as well as what’s new and next.
  • Able to critically review furniture shop drawings received from manufacturing partners.
  • Clear communicator who is invested in nurturing the relationships between Maiden Home and our manufacturing partners.
  • Connections within the industry, including manufacturers and material resources, are considered an asset.
  • Strong interest in a production-forward role, grounded in product development and product success.
  • Strong attention to detail, a “can-do” attitude and the ability to consistently take initiative, demonstrating relentless follow-through in a startup environment.
  • High energy, a healthy dose of tenacity and a collaborative spirit.
