About the Role:

CBRE's Local Project Management team for the San Francisco South Business Unit is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and proactive Project Manager. The successful candidate will bring extensive construction project management

experience specific to California's Bay Area market, demonstrate a proven ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously, and actively contribute to business growth through client engagement and lead development.

What You’ll Do:

  • Actively identify and pursue prospective project leads, leveraging local market knowledge to secure new business opportunities.
  • Independently estimate complete job packages, develop detailed project proposals, and deliver persuasive presentations to clients, clearly articulating project scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Execute subcontractor buyouts, obtaining multiple competitive bids per trade to ensure cost-efficiency and quality assurance.
  • Review and issue subcontractor contracts, effectively manage subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with project requirements and schedules.
  • Directly manage all aspects of project financials, including preparation and submission of billing applications, budget tracking, change orders, and cost reconciliation.
  • Create, maintain, and manage complex project schedules, consistently meeting critical milestones and completion targets.
  • Spend substantial time onsite overseeing project execution, ensuring high-quality standards, compliance, and efficient workflow.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, site meetings, and proactive management of client expectations.
  • Represent CBRE professionally in all interactions, demonstrating outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

What You’ll Need:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of proven project management experience, specifically within the California Bay Area construction market.
  • Demonstrated track record successfully managing projects across medical, life sciences, heavy industry, and educational sectors.
  • Direct experience managing construction projects ranging from $500,000 to $10 million.
  • Extensive experience independently handling estimating, subcontractor negotiations, contracts administration, financial management, and scheduling.
  • Highly motivated self-starter capable of managing multiple concurrent projects without typical project administrative support.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project).
  • Engineering degree preferred; relevant practical experience is required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and client-facing skills, including the ability to clearly communicate complex information and effectively present proposals to clients.

California Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Senior Construction Project Manager position is $107,500 annually and the maximum salary for the Senior Construction Project Manager position is $187,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
